Path sequence
is represented by colour. Using a rainbow heat scale colour change
occurs upon termination of a repeated subsequence, that is, upon
the occurrence of a visitation to a previously unvisited path.

From the diagram above we can view the path a student took through
a section of a digital media elearning site. He/she visits a range
of lecture note material, mostly in sequence (cold colours to
the left and warm colours to the right), for Week 2 to Week 9
of a Level 3 module. A typical short spike surf pattern is evident
here as the student returns to the module introduction each time
to select the next set of lecture notes.
